Description
This program will introduce elementary (rising 4th, 5th, and 6th grades) and middle school (rising 7th & 8th grade) students to building and programming robots using LEGO Mindstorms. Students will learn mechanical design, construction, programming and teamwork skills. Students will work in small teams using LEGO blocks, motors and sensors, students explore gears and pulleys, build and control a line drawing robot and finally a robot that can find its way and avoid obstacles. Students use a computer to teach their robot to move, react, and make sounds in order to solve challenges.
