Maryland MESA
Maryland MESA, Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement, is a pre-college program designed to increase the number of Maryland students prepared for the rigor of university study in mathematics-based fields by enhancing science and mathematics education. Maryland MESA was founded in 1976 with two schools in Baltimore City and has since expanded to include more than 100 schools throughout the state.
The Center for Minorities in Science and Engineering serves as the Regional Center for Prince George’s County, Maryland. Maryland MESA offers outreach programs which include a Saturday Academy, summer programs, and in-service and after school enrichment programs. The Prince George’s County Maryland MESA program targets African American, Hispanic American and Native American students in K-12.
